I Know What Is Happening With Kate Middleton (or, Person Who Has Devoted Her Life To The Royal Family Weighs In)
It is well documented that I care more about the royal family than I do my own. For instance, I didn’t cry at my own wedding but I did cry during Will and Kate’s. When Archie was born to Harry and Megan, more people reached out to me with congratulations than when my own son was born. My grandmother and Queen Elizabeth died a few months apart and both were models to me of strength and class. I miss them both.
So when the most important, beautiful, brilliant, and perfect person in the entire world, Kate Middleton, has rumors swirling about her, you know this has been taking up all of my mental energy and internet browsing.
But I think my hot take on this will surprise you….
While I believe that her surgery was very serious and her condition has been more fragile than Kensington Palace has let on, I don’t think there is anything especially amiss with Kate Middleton right now.
There is plenty of precedent for the Royal Family to dig their heels in and not discuss or give any information on the state of affairs despite public outcry. The reason they are not caving and talking more about Kate and her condition is because of this precedent - if they give more information on this situation, the next time a crisis arises and they don’t give any further statements on a hot topic, people will refer to the time they gave more info on Kate and not on the new situation.
They rely so heavily on protocol that their approach seems like something out of the Middle Ages. But Kensington Palace is playing the long game. They must for the livelihood of the monarchy. While this approach feels cold and antiquated, it is essential for stability and to maintain homeostasis for a centuries-old institution.
Infuriating for our prying eyes and ears? Absolutely. But when the announcement that Kate was undergoing surgery was made, and she would not make appearances until Easter and no updates would be given unless necessary, Kensington Palace meant it. They aren’t going to bend to the whims of conspiracy theory or public pressure. She is being given time and space to recover. I also believe that William requested this time for healing on behalf of Kate - he has more autonomy since he became second in line to the throne and in light of the health issues of King Charles. William is protective of Kate and probably feels like he has some control over the messaging and actions of his family that he didn’t have before the Queen passed away.
As for PhotoShoppe Gate, that was just sloppy work on behalf of her press team. They seriously underestimated the scrutiny that would be paid to this image (and is also not the first time an image released from Kensington Palace has been poorly edited). As for the picture of her and William in the car? That was a paparazzi pic and the inconsistency of the bricks could be from a number of issues (lens speed, editing by the publication, etc).
While I am in a constant state of awareness and checking Page Six and The Daily Mail for updates on her well being, I am also not going to get too worked up until Easter has come and gone without any sighting of the most perfect specimen that mankind has to offer. To reiterate, I believe her condition is serious, but I am not buying into the Brazilian butt lift, Prince William affairs, coma, etc rumors.
Also to reiterate, Kate is a goddess and the most important person in the world. I have told my husband that if he ever left me for her, I would 100% support this move. She is superior to me and if she would like to take my family from me I would let her. But only with the promise that she and I would have tea a few times a month and she would let me heal something more precarious than her abdomen - the relationship with the Sussex family….
